A get away in Paris

As a part of a field trip, the students of the high school Lucie Aubrac got the opportunity to visit the luxembourg museum in Paris and discover the photography art of the mysterious and overly creative Vivian maier, a french and american woman who spent her life to capture on tiny pieces of paper humans and their world...

Vivian Maier, one of a kind :

A secretive, introverted person, it's what she appeared as. Vivian Maier, the legend of street photography, was never a fan of notoriety. She was known to have compulsive behavior and used to stay in her room all the time. She was a nanny too. Staying unknown when alive, she was a hoarder. She had an uncanny habit of keeping everything she found. She filmed a lot of colored films, and remarkable pictures.

After her death, a man discovered her negatives in 2009 and diffused them in a museum. Her art left the public bewildered.

The visit of Luxembourg museum :

This rewarding field trip was guided by our English teacher Mrs Robert and Mr. Bouchet. All along the visit, she introduced us to every picture and gave a precise analysis for each one. This trip made us very curious about photography and we learned a lot of new English words and got some basic knowledge of photography far away from the schoolish work.

A quote that caught my attention during the visit : “Un film n’est pas fait pour une promenade des yeux, mais pour y pénétrer, y être absorbé tout entier.”

And in english : a film isn’t made for the eyes exercise but to blend into it, to be entirely absorbed by it.

Bringing out our creativity :

Following this field trip, our English teacher gave us a task : create a story about the person or the object in the picture. We all chose a picture and showed our creativity via this writing challenge and I have to admit that it really poured out the hidden capacity of all of us. There you'll find the top 10 stories published here.

But this day doesn't resume with just a visit!

Our teachers made us discover some iconic English librairies, comic book stores and famous places like universities in Paris and told us about historical events.

There are english librairies I recommend you :
